DJ Scratching Tutorial and Scratching Skills

Scratching is actually hands-on manipulation of samples. The top turntablists around the world create sounds and patterns that make it hard to believe there’s nothing more involved than a needle on a record and an on-off switch for the audio or a fader.

DJs have always added scratched to records. They have been inserted as loud scratches to obscure foul language in a radio mix and scratching with a little snippet of an acappella to enhance a chorus. Scratching is an invaluable tool. Just make sure to get clearance for any vocal samples you use.
